Patricia Reed, Ph.D. , EBFR team psychologist, specializes in pain management and injury rehabilitation psychology. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at California School of Professional Psychology with an emphasis in health psychology. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the experience of stigma in people with chronic pain. She has published and presented research in the area of chronic pain and community health issues. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in behavioral medicine, at a teaching hospital, working with medical patients both individually and in groups. She also trained physicians in applying a bio-psycho-social model of individualized integrated care.
Dr. Reed’s interest in health psychology developed from her background in Nursing. She holds a Masters in Nursing from UCLA and is a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her career in healthcare she has promoted a model of active self-care and collaboration between healthcare providers and patients. Dr. Reed enjoys being part of EBFR, where all team members work together to empower patients to achieve their individual goals.
